As a birthday present from my lovely wife, I went to the Shelley’s Hotel in Lewes to spend a day photographing interiors under the watchful, hugely experienced, eye of Tim Clinch. The event was organised by Black & White Photography Magazine, one of my favourite photography magazines and something that has been hugely influential in the direction my photography has taken over the last 6 months.
The event itself was excellent with a good group of very talented amateurs and professionals, I came away feeling hugely energised and with a slightly sore neck. Having my pictures critiqued and edited by a professional photographer was a daunting moment but Tim was very complimentary when dealing with an image he spotted that he liked and also positive about images that didn’t quite work giving me some useful pointers as to where I could improve, largely to slow down and look before taking the picture, then look again once you have the shot to make sure everything in the whole image is just right.
